A Pilgrim Story, Zoe style
Zoe was singing a song about Pilgrim's that her kindergarten class had learned for Thanksgiving. The following conversation ensued:
Daddy: Zoe, who were the Pilgrims?
Zoe: They were the first Europeans to come to America.
Daddy: Why did they come here?
Zoe: To practice their religion.
Daddy: Why?
Zoe: Because they were thrown in jail in England!
Daddy: What was it like when they got here?
Zoe: Awful! It was cold, no food and they had to work hard. Real hard, because the sailors didn't do anything.
Daddy: Really, what were the sailors doing while the Pilgrims worked?
Zoe: Drinking beer.
