Just west of Lahaina, a coop for some of Kauai's famous Screaming Eagles (chickens), which are everywhere. The image captures the Rural feeling of the island, still more country than touristed, despite Hanalei's popularity.

What's a luau without a lovely wahini in a grass skirt and a coconut bra?
Some beautiful blooms at the Allerton Gardens. I'm not a big fan of botanical gardnes, but this lush, traipcal garden on the Southern side of Kauai is pretty awesome. A great place to soak in some beauty and for kids to run their ya-yas out.

My dear friend Robin, a South African surfer who has settled in Hanalei where he happily shapes surfboards. Robin and I worked together at Apple. When we was done writing code for a living, he returned to his first passion, making top notch boards in one of the most beautiful surf spots on the planet.
Another gorgeous pair of blossoms at the Allerton Gardens
